Microsoft Office365 Multi-Factor Authentication is being activated for SCU Students
All Microsoft Office365 services & applications will now require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) at Southern Cross University, as part of the ongoing initiatives to improve the University's cyber and information security practices.
MFA quickly and easily verifies your identity when using MS O365 services & applications, to prevent the spreading instances of Cybertheft.
When will this happen?
All Microsoft Office365 services accounts will begin to have MFA enforced from 23 May, after which at some point you will be prompted to set up MFA when you next log in.
How to set up MFA
It only takes a few minutes to set up your account with MFA.
- When you attempt to access your university email, or other MS O365 services, you will be prompted to set up MFA
- Follow this instruction link on how to Set up your MFA
- Once you have approved a login on your computer, that will be sufficient for the next 3 months. However, if you attempt to sign in on another device, it will prompt for MFA, again, providing access to that device for 3 months
